Future Optical Networks Workshop, 21 September 2023

Rationale and Objectives

“Future Optical Networks” is the central theme in a workshop organized on the morning of the 21st September, by NetworldEurope, in a joint effort with CCSA, which will host its onsite component in Shanghai (afternoon, local time). The workshop aims to provide an open information space to share current and future views about the future optical networks, and how this theme is being addressed by different stakeholders. Two different discussion panels are organized, discussing current and future network operator’s implementations, as well as new advances in optical technology that can be applied in access and transport networks. Ultimately, the workshop will contribute to identify future optical innovation challenges that are being posed by the ever-increasing bandwidth demanded in optical infrastructure for the benefit of our society.

The workshop will feature key speakers from industry and academia, representing the views of manufacturers, operators, standardization bodies, and research scientists.

The event will have a hybrid format, with some speakers onsite and others online. Nevertheless, since only a limited number of places are available, this option will be confirmed on an individual basis for regular attendees.
