NetworldEurope is finalising its Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) 2026, following an extensive collaborative effort involving contributions from a broad range of experts across the community.

The SRIA 2026 is presented as a single, integrated document, combining both high-level strategic vision and detailed technical analysis. It outlines the technological roadmap for future communication networks and services, supported by indicative metrics across different time horizons. Importantly, the SRIA is structured around a system-level perspective, moving beyond isolated technology areas to capture how capabilities interact and evolve as part of coherent end-to-end systems.

The technical chapters illustrate the key research themes and priority topics for the coming years, providing guidance towards the next Multiannual Financial Framework (FP10) and reflecting the most critical technological challenges and opportunities the community sees for Europe and for global network technologies development.

At this stage, we are inviting feedback from the broader community on the SRIA document, to ensure a final high-quality version that reflects a wide range of perspectives from the network and telecommunication community as well as vertical industries and application domains.
